We strongly believe that high quality extra-curricular activities enhance pupils’ learning experiences beyond the curriculum and are an essential part of school life. For all our pupils, a comprehensive programme of enrichment opportunities (Leadership Academies) are offered, aimed at developing key personal skills and aptitudes, along with specific interests and talents.
The Leadership Academies provide opportunities for pupils to try new things and are an excellent medium to foster good relationships between staff, pupils and parents. They develop pupils’ social skills by providing a forum of interaction between pupils across different ages and schools.
We offer a variety of Leadership Academies to meet the different interests of the children. These include:
- Robot club
- Cricket club for Years 1, 2 & 6
- Football club
- Yarn and craft for Years 5 & 6
- Weaving and sewing for Years 3 & 4
- SAT Wellbeing Club for Year 6
- Change for Life
During the year, after consultation with the children, new leadership academies are sometimes introduced.
Our Breakfast Club is open daily from 8.00 – 8.40am in the New Building Hall. A variety of both hot and cold breakfasts are prepared for the children at reasonable prices. There are a variety of activities and games on offer, including: jigsaws, play dough, dolls, board games, colouring, pool, table tennis and a football table. Occasionally, badminton, hula hooping and other sporting activities are provided for extra stimulation. Breakfast Club currently has between 40 and 50 children attending regularly. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 are welcome to attend. Special arrangements can be made for our Reception-aged pupils.
