Over the past term our KS2 pupils have been learning about the importance of staying safe online. We launched Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 5th February 2019 with Key Stage Assemblies focusing on how to Stay Safe when using the internet following the SMART rules and exactly what it means to give consent. Safer Internet Day promotes the safe and responsible use of digital technology and all classes had the opportunity to explore further ways to ensure they stay safe online by raising their awareness of the dangers. To further reinforce this important message, PCSO Joanne Cato from Bradford Cyber Crime Unit led KS2 workshops with an additional focus on how to address cyber bullying.  Parents were also invited to workshops to raise their awareness of the potential dangers children may face when playing games online or using social media. She stressed the importance of using strong passwords and monitoring exactly how the computer is being used.
